Competition Results

To begin the competition, the team has to build the bridge within a maximum 45 minute time limit and in 30 minutes with no penalty. The team was able to build the bridge in 25 minutes and 16 seconds this year. Only one dimensional violation was given to te bridge for being 1/4 inch to wide.

Next, the bridge was moved to the loading zone where it was preped with three deflection gauges, one at the center and te other two on the edges. 50 pounds of lateral load was applied at the center of the bridge and only 1/4 inch of deflection was measured. After te lateral load test, the vertical load test was done. The bridge was loaded with 2600 pounds of vertical load and was able to successfully pass the vertical load with 2.1 inches of vertical deflection.

Overall the team finished 3rd in display and 6th overall amongst 17 schools
